Which church to attend?

Which church to attend?

It would be difficult to count how many times that the Bible repeats the answer for which church to attend. One of the primary repetitive themes in Bible stories addresses the discernment of good and evil for decision making and guidance. This includes for which church to attend.

Scripture reveals when choosing a church, to not place human understanding above Holy God’s will! This includes to reject human considerations such as the convenience and pleasures for oneself, weighing out if a church is conducting a service according to one’s own ideas, choosing the ‘right’ denomination, or matching one’s own understanding and level of Bible knowledge with a church!

A church filled with people who rejected praying for the will of God’s living, live, Holy Spirit, to instead congregate because of the same understanding of Bible verses, is a church congregating in self guidance for the sake of mutual understanding! Right, wrong, or having the same interpretations of God’s Word – does not overwrite the Almighty, living, live, Holy Spirit of God and His Glory and WILL! Jesus knows what He is doing and where He needs His children the most for everyone’s sake! The right church to attend is not decided by which church has things figured the best, but by the will of God’s living, live, Holy Spirit!

Glory is for Glory! Jesus knows what He is doing! Humans were not present, nor did they create, nor do they have the ability to create – the eternal, glorious, Holy Heavens! Humans do not have, nor did they make – an eternal plan before the world was formed that considers all people throughout the ages, and how they all influence and interact with God and each other, to best benefit themselves, others, and God’s Glory! By rejecting prayer for guidance from God’s Spirit, and to instead, ‘play God,’ ‘play church,’ and make one’s own choice of which church to attend; can jeopardize paths that are individually designed for each person, and their blessings from Je
sus! This can include to short-circuit many purposeful and critical blessings, such as to even hinder the salvation of loved ones, friends, and others!

Multitudes of Bible verses and storylines include a theme that reveals a primary discernment of goodness and evil, summed up in three Bible verses: Proverbs 3:5-7 Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. 6 In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths. 7 Be not wise in thine own eyes: fear the Lord, and depart from evil.

Paul was obedient and guided by the will of God’s living Holy Spirit to not abandon, but to love and help churches that were sinning and off course from God’s Spirit and Word. Jesus, as a man, the Word of God, the Son of God, and Holy God – prayed to do the exact will of His Father in Heaven! This includes to teach, testify, and witness at the locations that our Holy Father wanted Him to influence! Jesus did not choose to consider only those who had all things figured out. But Jesus ventured into the presence of some of the most wicked people and churches, not choosing only healthy people and churches to love and help!

Our Father commands and guides to have fellowship in the manner of the love of Jesus! This includes to not fellowship ‘in agreement with’ the unfruitful works of darkness! But God’s Word and the actions of Jesus disclose to approach and ‘associate with’ those in darkness, ‘if and when’ the will of God’s Holy Spirit enlightens to do so, to guide the lost to the light of Jesus!

If Jesus only associated with healthy people and churches, He would never have come to save His children! Sons and daughters do not get the salvation of life through human will and power ‘playing God’ and leaning unto their own understanding! No one can lead someone to Jesus, without Jesus, let alone do so better than the living Spirit of Jesus!

A servant might be led by God’s Spirit to a church that is, or is not, doing many things right. This inclu
des leading, or not leading, unsaved attendees and the surrounding community to the message of Jesus and the cross – to repent sin and have a confession of faith in Jesus.

The most important issue in this lifetime – life past this lifetime – is through the will and power of who was sent by the Father – the way, the truth, and the life – God’s Glory in Jesus! Jesus knows where and how is best for each individual person to have communion with Him and to serve Him, including in and out of church!

Ultimately, the indisputable church to attend, no matter what physical church that the Lord guides someone to attend – is the one true church that our Father, in Jesus, has been developing since before the world was formed. Scripture reveals the church to attend and to never stop attending is the Holy eternal Spiritual church of Jesus Christ, now and forever without end!

1st Thessalonians 5:17 Pray without ceasing.

Romans 8:14 For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons (children) of God.

Jesus prayed to the Father in John 17:4-5,26 I have glorified thee on earth: I have finished the work which thou gave me to do. 5 And now, O Father, glorify thou me with thine own self with the glory which I had with thee before the world was. 26 And I have declared unto them thy name, and will declare it: that the love wherewith thou has loved me may be in them, and I in them.

Ephesians 3:20-21 Now unto him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us. 21 Unto him be glory in the church by Christ Jesus throughout all ages, world without end. Amen.
